Immediate repatriation of students and employees in foreign countries

Dienstag 17 März 2020

As of Tuesday evening, 17 March, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises travel abroad only if strictly necessary. All students and staff who are currently abroad for study or work purposes are requested to return to the Netherlands as soon as possible.

We had previously decided to recall students from high-risk areas to the Netherlands, but as this advice applies to travel to all countries, we are now asking all students and staff currently staying abroad for work or study to return to the Netherlands. Students and staff who decide to stay where they are do so at their own risk.

Students who have arranged their return journey are asked to contact the contact person for their study programme immediately with information on when they will be returning and where they will be staying in the Netherlands after their return. Students in special situations (e.g. if they have a NON-EU passport or are on board a ship) must also contact coronavirus@nhlstenden.com.
