Semester 1: Basics of Hospitality

Explore the basics of the hospitality industry and work in our training companies. Mixing theory and practice, you explore the concept of hostmanship while developing your understanding and experience of hospitality, and finance.

3-4 days practice per week for 16 weeks

Semester 2: Hospitality the next level

Move on to the next level of hospitality and explore what is
needed behind the scenes of a hospitality business. You develop
your insights into monitoring HRM and service marketing concepts and work on a finance challenge.

Study load: 6/18 contact hours, 6/22 self-study hours per week | 60 ECTS

Semester 1: Future of Sustainable Hospitality

Explore the future of sustainable hospitality by examining your own
career and business. You study 3 modules covering starting up your
own business, supervisor skills and project management.

3 days practice per week for 5 weeks

Semester 2: Business Research and Development

Conclude your studies by looking into business development & research. This gives you the skills to advise on change in a hospitality business. You explore how you can innovate and improve processes and develop your insights into management. You’ll also work on your research skills.

2 days in an external company per week for 16 weeks

Study load: 10/6 contact hours, 30/15 selfstudy hours per week | 60 ECTS

If you decide to continue with the bachelor's degree after the associate degree, you can specialise in different areas of the hospitality industry. Classes at the Hospitality Management programme cover all facets of management and you specialize by taking a number of minors. These are electives in which you focus on a specific subject or expand your knowledge by taking an additional subject. This allows you to truly take charge of your education by ‘customizing’ your course.

You can take these minors in the Netherlands or at one of the international campus sites located in South Africa, Thailand or Indonesia (we call this the Grand Tour). You may also choose from minors offered by other courses and universities of applied sciences – this is all part of broadening your academic skills.
