ITESS Taster Day

If you enjoy working with young people, love adventure and are open to new cultures, teaching abroad may suit you. International Teacher Education for Secondary Schools is a new bachelor programme designed in the Netherlands. In September 2018, ITESS will start at the Groningen location of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences.

  • Unique, four-year programme aimed specifically at international education.

  • Grow into a qualified and world-wise teacher, ready to work at various types of international secondary schools.

  • Great job prospects in a rapidly expanding field.

  • Teaching practice at international schools in the Netherlands, Europe and beyond.

  • One semester (half a year) of study at a partner university outside the Netherlands.

There will be three main subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • Social Studies: History
  • German

17.00 Visit to Groningen city centre (60 minutes, optional).

The standard language on the Taster Day is English, which is the official language in ITESS. The sessions and the information are provided by the staff and our student promotion team. In individual talks with students and lecturers, you can also ask questions in Dutch or German.

Public transport to the event location

From Groningen Central Railway Station, take Qbuzz bus 15.
Get off at Zernike Noord. From here, you walk to Zernikepark 10 in four minutes.

From the railway station, Groningen Europapark, take Qbuzz bus 2.
