International Week 2018

International Week: 14 – 17 May 2018

NHL Stenden will host the International Week from May 14-17, 2018. The International Week will be held at the main locations of NHL Stenden in Leeuwarden.

Universities around the world prepare students for an ever-changing world by exposing them to a range of meaningful experiences at home and abroad. Such experiences exist in the formal and informal curricula and seek to facilitate learning. How do we educate students to be connecting, enterprising and inventive professionals? How do we equip them to be ready to face the future and to acquire sufficient skills and knowledge to be able to make informed choices? How do we connect the international, the national and the regional dimensions as a breeding ground for learning, research, improvement and innovation?

Learn from experts and share your knowledge about internationalisation and Design Based Education during our International Week: a four-day long experience for teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and students. With teaching opportunities, workshops, job-shadowing sessions, and exciting social events.

As a partner you are invited to give a lecture or workshop about your application of Design Based Education and/or in e.g. Marketing, Business, Economics, Communication & Multimedia Design, Engineering, Teacher Training (primary and secondary), Communication or Social Work. A more detailed programme of this international week will be published later.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to our International Week in Leeuwarden, Fryslan, Europe’s Cultural Capital 2018, in the North of the Netherlands.

The preliminary programme will be finalised as soon as possible. We are glad to say that our three main keynote speakers have been confirmed:

  • Ruben Terlou, Dutch Photographer, Journalist and Medical Doctor.

The keynote speakers represent different topics that are related to the themes internationalisation and change.
