Selection Days at Hotel Management School Leeuwarden

A mandatory selection procedure is part of the admission requirements for Hotel Management School Leeuwarden for students living abroad. This selection procedure includes submitting a CV and vlog and undergoing two personal selection interviews. 

Once you have applied for the Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in Leeuwarden, you will receive an invitation to our selection procedure at your personal email address within 5 days. This selection procedure is mandatory. 

In this email you will find a link to register for an online selection day by upload your CV, and a short personal vlog in English, lasting up to 3 minutes. The instructions for this will be provided in the email. You can register for the selection day up to 2 weeks before the date, and it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. You will receive a response within 2 weeks. We assess your motivation, proficiency in the English language, how well you present yourself in the vlog (clear and concise), and how you have prepared for your choice of study.

For all our September 2025 applicants, please apply via Studielink. You will receive the e-mail invitation for register for a selection day within 5 working days. Click here for our application procedure.  

For each selection day we have 2 available timeslots in CET (Central European Time):

  • 9.00 - 11.00 hours
  • 13.00 - 15.00 hours

Starting in February 2026

If you wish to start in February 2026, please apply via Studielink per July 2025. Click here for our application procdure. In September 2025 we will send the invitations via email to register for one of the onine selection days.
 

Content of Selection Day

What can you expect? 
One week prior to the selection day, you will receive a link via your personal email to the online appointment during the time slot you have indicated. This is a Microsoft Teams link. This appointment can be accessed via the web or the application. 

You enter the online meeting to have two motivational interviews, one with a lecturer and one with and a current student. The interviews will touch on topics such as your motivation to start at the Hotel Management School NHL Stenden in Leeuwarden, how you have prepared for this choice, and why you believe you are suitable for the hospitality industry. We strongly recommend attending an webinar/online open day before participating in the selection procedure: get to Know the Hotel Management School! Tip: Familiarize yourself with Design-Based Education; you can expect questions about it. More information about DBE is available during our presentations via our website. 
 

Selection Results 

We aim to email the results within 15 working days after the selection day. If you are admitted, your admission is valid for two intake moments (September and February).
