Competition for Irish students

NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences is challenging Irish high school students to test their skills by taking part in a competition. The winner will be offered a 2-night complimentary stay at the 4* Stenden Hotel in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands and a small but handsome travel budget.

Who can enter?

High school students residing in Ireland interested in studying hospitality, tourism, leisure or events management at university level.

Competition & incentive

Destination Ireland!

Let’s be honest, Dutch people don’t know too much about Ireland. Sure, we may have heard of the Blarney Stone, drink an occasional Guiness and many of us mark Dublin as a bucket list destination for a short weekend break, but we also imagine there are more sheep then people there. And surely, it must rain even more frequently there than it does in the Netherlands?

As you can probably imagine, we could use some help in positioning Ireland. You are therefore invited to come up with an approach to promote ‘destination Ireland’ to a target group of young Dutch people. You are interested in the fields of study in tourism, leisure or hospitality and that’s why we would like to ask you to come up with a vlog/video (max. 3 min.) or a tool/channel of your own liking, to create an attractive image of Ireland as a destination country appealing to millennials.

NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences offers the winner of this competition a 2-night complimentary stay for 2 persons at the Stenden Hotel in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands to come and visit an International Open Day. Additionally, a travel budget of 250 euros will be made available to help with your travel expenses.

Procedure

You may submit your contribution to jasper.hofman@stenden.com before 1 April 2019.

A selection committee consisting of expert lecturers in hospitality, tourism and leisure will assess all assignments on creativity and relevance. The winner will be contacted personally by a representative of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences no later than 10 April 2019.
