Are you interested in the major package of international and European legislation that govern our daily public, private and professional lives? Do you want to get insight and work on practical legal assignments in the field of international law? Then the minor International Law is what you need!
Core of the minor is the legal advice that students will be preparing for (regional) businesses, organisations or members of the European Parliament on a particular international legal subject.
During the minor, students work on several assignments such as a practical legal research project. During moot court, students represent the legal interests of parties in an international conflict. You will practice your legal English and Intercultural skills. The focus is on your personal and professional development, on which you will reflect in the final assessment.
Aim of the minor:
1. Students are able to recognize, analyse and apply basic theoretical knowledge in the field of international law.
2. Students are able to recognize, analyse and apply basic international law theory on the subject of professional issues and dilemmas in an international context.
3. Students are able to communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions for issues in the field of international law to a specialist audience in an international context.
4. Students have knowledge of the international law system, in particular regarding human rights, international business law and European law.

This minor is a graduation component of the Law degree program. The students of the Law degree therefore have priority over students from other courses.
Legal competencies at level 2 must be obtained before admission to the minor.
This minor is especially suitable for students of one of the following programs:
HBO Rechten/Law, European Studies, Integrale Veiligheidskunde, Bestuurskunde, Bedrijfskunde and Human Resource Management.
Students without any legal knowledge are strongly discouraged to enroll!
