- Automation, including computer networks, PLCs in combination with hydraulic systems and electrical drives.
- Waste heat recovery systems, including ORC installations and STED installations with steam and gas turbines.
- Dredge pumps, covering dredging, land reclamation, and shore discharge. Explanation of key factors such as determining vacuum levels and working with mixtures.
- Switchboard configuration in different DP (dynamic positioning) situations.
- A look into the (near) future: What fuels can we use? How will the engine room be designed?
- Various fuels will be discussed, such as LNG, hydrogen, ethanol, and ammonia. The possibility of CO₂ capture and storage (CCS) will also be addressed.
- Students will also conduct their own research project (Project Management and Thesis).
