Minor content

Together with another student you will optimize a clients’ process. You will eliminate waste along entire value streams, instead of at isolated points, creates processes that need less human effort, less space, less capital and less time to make products and services at far less costs and with much fewer defects.  

You will have to implement your solutions and also implement a PDCA cycle. This part of the minor will concluded with an assessment based on your A3. A basic knowledge of operations management will be required for this fourth year minor.  

Structure of the minor

During this minor (30EC) will optimize a clients’ process by using the Lean (Six Sigma) methodology (Green belt level). You will team up with another student and thoroughly analyze the problem(s), find solutions and implement them. To achieve your goals it is necessary to be present within the clients organization for at least two days a week.  

 Besides this assignment, there will also be lessons (theory) and workshops. This part will be concluded with an exam (multiple choice). At the workshops you will learn the necessary skills for optimizing processes.

Target group

This minor is a graduation component of the Business Administration course. Students from the Business Management Studies (Dutch variant) program have priority over students from other study programs.
