In the Social Entrepreneurship minor you’ll learn multicultural, political and legal aspects of international business, develop your management skills and put your business management theories into practice. You will do this against a backdrop of many socio-economic challenges of a typical South African township.
Studying the history of South Africa and of Port Alfred specifically in order to understand why society is shaped the way it is today Exploring the socio-economic challenges of a South African township and working in a multicultural community Applying Business Management theory into practice in a way that is practical and effective and delivering basic professional training and consultation programs.
You are assessed on individual participation in the different educational activities. Prepare individual and group assignments from lectures and workshops of themes related to the local community. Mandatory attendance of 80% is required for each module component.
Students from different backgrounds (study, country, expertise) cooperate with companies and other stakeholders. Professional attitude and eagerness to learn are assets.
