Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the world and is related to hospitality, people and experiences but also very a very volatile industry. Therefore, the industry must be able to adapt quickly to changes in consumer behaviour, trends and external circumstances. Events create live communication platforms in an era where digitalization is playing an important role. But how do you differ? This requires creativity, business and organizational skills to gain the competences required to be successful.  You will learn by doing through projects. This means that you really develop and create inspiring tours, (re)brand destinations. Furthermore, you will organize and carry out a memorable event and organize your own field trip.

This minor is about understanding tourism and events, from the perspective of organizations, destinations or government, and to allow for sustained success. It is also about practical things like planning, organizing, managing and marketing. You will amass knowledge in the areas of (sustainable) tourism and destination management, experience and online marketing, event management, finance, cross cultural management, market research and communication.
