The Ship Handling course is aiming to increase the understanding and competency of masters and officers regarding maneuvering vessels with different types of thrusters and rudders. The course has different elements, which all strive to enhance the level of professional education of the master and officers with regard to safely handling a specific type of vessel.

Course contents

Course contents

The course is divided into three parts:

  • Manoeuvering with conventional supply vessels (2 days)
  • Manoeuvering with azimuth thrusters (1.5 days)
  • Manoeuvering with a joystick (0.5 days)

Practical content

All our courses provide practical and hands-on experience based on the knowledge and expertise of our instructors. As a trainee, you will gain an understanding and proficiency in practical ship handling on a Full Mission Simulator.

Certification and approval

The course is STCW compliant and approved. Upon successful completion of the course, a certificate will be issued by MIWB. All our simulators and the organisation are DNV approved.
