Corona update – 21 January 2021

Friday 22 January 2021

A press conference took place on Wednesday, 20 January in which additional corona measures were announced, including a curfew from 9pm to 4.30am and visitor restrictions. Yesterday, the House of Representatives approved the measure to introduce the curfew as of Saturday 23 January. The additional measures affect work and study at our university of applied sciences and below is an overview of the additional measures that apply until at least 9 February.

  • The curfew affects when our campuses can be open. Only our locations in Leeuwarden (Rengerslaan 8 and 10 and Blokhuispoort), Emmen and Terschelling will be open from 8.30 to 17.00 for necessary site-specific work and research, practical education, planned tests and vulnerable students.
  • Educational activities that were scheduled for after 7.30pm have been cancelled. They will either be provided online or rescheduled. You will be notified of any timetable changes by your study programme.
  • With travel time (either by public or private transport), please keep the curfew in mind. Leave the locations in time.
  • NHL Stenden continues to follow the latest travel advice issued by the Dutch government. More information can be found on the government’s website.
