Diversity & Inclusivity 

NHL Stenden wants people to be able to be themselves, to feel safe and welcome, and to have fair opportunities – wherever they are in the world and irrespective of their visible and invisible differences. We’re convinced that a way of working in which we emphasize what unites us, in which differences are appreciated, in which respect is key, and in which people feel safe, contributes to the quality of our education, research, and our position as an employer.   

 

Across the organisation, we facilitate ways of anchoring diversity and inclusivity in our education, research and support by providing clear information to students and staff, helping them motivate dialogue, and broadening their context (for instance, through our range of professional development courses).

Gender Equality Plan

By signing the Gender Equality Plan, NHL Stenden underlines the importance of gender diversity and inclusion. It’s a public declaration that shows our commitment to applying the principles of equal opportunities and creating a safe learning and working environment.

The Diversity & Inclusion working group 

The Diversity & Inclusion working group brings together colleagues from different departments in our university of applied sciences. They develop, implement and monitor our diversity and inclusion policy by working with a sounding board that represents students, study programmes, services and the various campuses. The working group also collaborates with existing initiatives such as IDARE.
