Once you've enrolled at NHL Stenden, you'll need to pay your tuition fees. There are two types of tuition fee: the statutory tuition fee and the institutional tuition fee, and different tariffs apply to the two fees. You can read more about which type of tuition fee applies to you below.
Exception to tuition fees
If you have already earned a diploma, there are three situations in which you may have to pay statutory tuition fees for your second programme:
- If you have earned your diploma and then go on to do a programme at higher vocational level in education or healthcare.
- If you follow two programmes simultaneously, you may, after you have earned your diploma for the first programme, pay the statutory tuition fee to finish the second programme. NB your registration in the second programme may not have been interrupted.
- Students registered through UAF are eligible to pay institutional tuition fees set at the same level as the statutory tuition fees.
If you pay statutory tuition fees and, in addition to doing a programme at NHL Stenden, you plan to do another study for which you must pay statutory tuition fees, then you can prove to your second programme that you already pay statutory tuition fees by producing a Proof of Paid Tuition Fees (in Dutch, BBC).
You may also request a Proof of Paid Tuition Fees if you follow a minor at a different university or university of applied sciences. You can use this form.
To authorise a digital payment through Studielink, you need to use your DigiD. The payment is therefore person-specific which means an employer or benefit agency cannot pay the tuition fees directly to NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences: you will need to authorize the digital payment yourself as a student. Once you have done this, you can request a statement of tuition fees so that you can claim the tuition fees back from your employer or benefit agency. You can request the statement online.
Are you only doing exams and not following any classes (external student)? If you are not following any classes but are sitting exams at NHL Stenden, then you pay € 9,730 (academic year 2024-2025).
