Professor of Applied Sciences

Dr Spreen studied Sociology at Groningen University and earned his PhD in 1999, writing his thesis on ‘Random check designs for personal networks at Groningen University’s Interuniversity Center for Social Science, Theory and Methodology. From 1999 to 2002, he was a member of the faculty of Methodology and Statistics at Maastricht University. He has been working in the Research department of the S. van Mesdag Forensic Psychiatric Centre in Groningen since 2002. His main areas of research are the role and impact of the system on patient behaviour and treatment evaluation at the individual level.

Inauguration speech

Dr Speen delivered an inauguration speech when he was inaugurated as a Professor of Applied Sciences in 2009.
