After a degree in Electrical Engineering at Zwolle, graduate Gerard Slot took several specialisation courses at the University of Twente, and also worked for many years at Wavin, a manufacturer of plastic pipe systems. In addition, he also acquired experience in processing biodegradable plastics. Slot joined Stenden University of Applied Sciences in 1985. As a lecturer in the Electrical Engineering degree programme, he supervised students in plastic processing methods, particularly injection moulding and extrusion. In addition to his work as a researcher in the Department, he also teaches courses for corporate clients.
