Project engineer Ian Langeberg is immensely fascinated in electrical engineering. He employs his knowledge in practical research at the Computer Vision professorship & knowledge centre.
“I have been interested in technology since I was a young boy. A technological study was therefore a natural step for me. After the MBO (intermediate occupational education) in Electrical Engineering I completed the HBO course (higher occupational education course) in Electrical Engineering at the NHL. I am now an Electrical Engineering instructor at the NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, which means that I provide support to first-year Electrical Engineering students during their practical lessons. Since September 2016, I have been actively involved with the Computer Vision knowledge centre, where I can use my knowledge in practical research. The good thing about the projects here is that together you can create something that has an immediate effect. In the project itself, but also eventually in society.”
Fascinating combination
“Electrical engineering is not only my occupation, it is also my hobby. I enjoy programming in my free time; from applications to microcontrollers. In my projects I like to look for a suitable composition for the electronics, and sometimes make my own print designs. I also find the combination of hardware and software fascinating. The projects of the Computer Vision knowledge centre are very much in line with my own interests. For the coming time, my work will include working with UAVs. Together with another project engineer, we are working on the control software for drones.”
