As project engineer, Sandra Heins works mainly on organising projects within the Maritime, Marine Environmental and Safety Management professorship. What she enjoys the most about her job is connecting the business sector with education, as well as the involvement of students and lecturers in this.
“In 2009, I graduated in environmental science at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences. My thesis focused on creative application options for dredged material. The possible uses include roads and sound barriers, as well as filling up industrial sites and agricultural or nature areas in order to improve the soil. After a brief career with several engineering firms, I joined NHL Stenden. I primarily coordinate the organisation of projects and the involvement of the lecturers and students in this.”
