"Joyfully contributing to excelent education” is the motto which Janita van Dorland expresses in her job. She focuses on the quality of education and encourages innovation in primary schools. So far she has had a versatile teaching career, she has worked as a teacher, a director and a consultant.

Currently, Janita van Dorland works for the COG Drenthe as project leader of Training and Professional development. In cooperation with Pabo NHL Stenden, she is the manager of “Opleiden in de School” (OIDS) and the project “Versterking Samenwerking in Opleiden” (VSiO). In this management position she strengthens the cooperation between teacher education and primary schools.
Out of OIDS a collaboration with the Centre for Early Childhood has arisen. This cooperation is characterized by the connection between theory and practice; sharing knowledge and experience. Teachers take part in the widespread knowledge network of Early Childhood and the lectureship researches the Cito toddler tests for all COG schools. In response to a question from COG Drenthe on future-oriented education for young children, the research team the Young Child has arisen.
This research team focuses on how a rich learning environment for young children can be shaped.
Two teachers who will be working in the incipient years will be facilitated to carry out this three-year study in cooperation with the lectureship. Janita van Dorland is the link between the lectureship and the schools.
She will also communicate the findings within the organization and will make sure that it can be translated into a public policy.
