Born in Lemsterland in Friesland province, Judith Veldman-Dam spent most of her childhood in Zambia. After qualifying as a nurse at a college in Groningen, she earned a teaching degree from InHolland University of Applied Sciences, and in 2014 she completed a Master’s degree in Learning and Innovation. Ms Veldman-Dam works as a lecturer in Nursing at Alfa-college and joined the staff of the Sustainable Innovation in the Regional Knowledge Economy Department in 2009.

Her research focuses on the question of what we can learn from informal learning processes involving vocational education institutions and the business community in terms of developing concepts for healthy living and hospitality. Judith supervises students in resolving innovation issues related to this subject and liaises with the businesses involved in the project.
