Having earned a degree in International Economics from Tilburg University and rounding out her education with various training courses in Organisational Development and coaching, Ms Hendriksen subsequently worked as a consultant and a lecturer in Leadership and Organisational Issues at Stenden University of Applied Sciences. She has been a member of the Research Group of the Sustainable Innovation in the Regional Knowledge Economy Department since 2013, where she is engaged in the research of new organisational forms and processes and procedures in the healthcare and welfare sectors. She is particularly interested in the question of how clients, residents and the public at large can be involved in changes, and what impact their involvement has on long-term results. Ms Hendriksen has participated in a large number of projects, including the Quality of the Living Environment Innovation Workplace, in which research and educational institutions, health and welfare organisations, and businesses join forces to develop products and services which enable the elderly to continue living at home in good health and for a longer period of time.
