Mr Zandberg has been a member of the faculty of Stenden University of Applied Sciences for many years, where he has been involved in a variety of projects and activities. He has a background in Econometrics and previously worked as a financial controller, and is currently doing his PhD research at the Sociology department of Groningen University. In addition, he also lecturers in Strategic Management in the Masters in Service Management programme and is a member of the Academy for International Hospitality Research.

As a scenario researcher at the European Tourism Futures Institute, his main area of interest is the financial and economic impact of scenarios and in his capacity as a member of the Research Group he explores innovative and enterprising behaviour among middle managers in large organisations. Some middle managers have proved to be more innovative than others, and his PhD research focuses on the question of why there are such differences between their styles. He expects to find solutions in the social networks of these managers, as well as in their personality and in external unforeseen factors, such as the nature of the organisation.
