It doesn’t matter if you are serving customer, patients, passengers or co-workers. In the world of Hostmanship© you approach everyone as a cherished guest. Where there is a guest, there is also a host. This ‘guest-host’ approach is the start of developing a habit of welcoming yourself and others. The foundation for true hospitality and sustainable success for us as individuals and society at large.

Minor content

In this minor you will sharpen your people skills and master how to apply the Hostmanship© philosophy using the Hostmanship© method. A unique method that will transform your standard operating procedures into meaningful interactions with guests.

The Hostmanship© method is based on academic articles and literature in the field of humanism, behavioral sciences, sociology and hospitality. It emphasizes the human part of hospitality by showing how one exceptional meeting can make a difference. The Hostmanship© method follows a four step-model of habits. This habit-forming method uses building blocks linked to creativity, branding, appreciative inquiry, intrinsic motivation, mindset changes, and many such.

Together with industry professionals, and field-experts you will be working on real world design challenges. Design Challenges can be executed in the form of a project, research and other forms of active professional products. You will be supported with opportunities for presentations and publications. Hosting and inviting others into meaningful dialogue during campfire sessions, you will develop yourself as a Hostmanship© practitioner.

At the end of the minor, you will be awarded with a certificate of completion from the Hostmanship© Group.

Structure of the minor

Have completed year 1 and 2 of your own Bachelor’s education.
This minor fits all educational fields and will take you further in any field of expertise in your future.

On completion of this minor you are welcome to take up the second minor – Lead as Host.
