I used to just listen to music, like everyone does, but people started to ask me if I could make a playlist for them, for their birthday or for a get-together.🥳 I have a broad taste in music so the lists would be quite diverse, to suit the mood or event. It was after a friend had asked me to DJ for her birthday party that I decided I enjoyed it so much, I wanted to get the gear.🎧 It started small, but I practised a lot. And in the end, I had a residency at a club in the town where I lived.🇵🇹
“I love how DJing helps me get out of my comfort zone. I sometimes find it difficult to strike up conversations, but this is a great way of socialising and getting out there. And I'm really passionate about it.💪 There's a saying in Portuguese, ‘A vida sao dois dias hoje.’ It means life is but two days: today you are living and tomorrow you don't know. So live for today. That's what I'm doing with DJing.🎶 When I look out at the crowd, read them to see what they want, and see people having fun, couples kissing, friends smiling, dancing and enjoying themselves, it creates memories. Memories I can take with me into tomorrow. Knowing that I’m helping make people's Fridays, Saturdays, whatever, a fun night is what makes DJing so great for me.🙏”
