Thorbecke Academy Assen

The Thorbecke Academy is - besides the main location in Leeuwarden - also located in Assen. You can find us in the former post office at the Zuidersingel, set up as an education studio. Here, our students work on all kinds of practical assignments.

Assen is a central location where various government services are located, such as the police, the military and the North Netherlands District Court. This way, we are close to the professional field in order to work on current and regional themes. Together with them and the industry from the region, our students work on various real-life issues.  The Professorship Cybersafety is also based in Assen. They carry out research on how governments can work more securely online.

Parking 
There are 10 parking spaces for employees near the building. Parking here is free of charge. Is this parking full? Then you can pay to park in the surrounding streets or in the car parks within walking distance of the building: Parkeergarage Torenlaan (Torenlaan 18) and Parkeergarage De Nieuwe Kolk (Weiersstraat 1). There are 14 bicycle spaces on site.

Public transport 
Assen bus/train station is an 11-minute walk from Zuidersingel 12-18.
