Locations and student facilities
The Thorbecke Academy is primarily based at the NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences in Leeuwarden and also has an educational studio in Assen.

Professorship Cybersafety
The Professorship Cybersafety is affiliated to the Thorbecke Academy. Bringing together students, lecturers, and institutions, the professorship carries out practise-based research on how to make our digital society as safe as possible.
Professorship Maritime Law
In 2030, maritime professionals will be working with technologies that are still to be developed under regulations that are yet to be written. The Maritime Law professorship focuses on research in the intersection of technology and law.
Professorship European Preparedness and Resilience
The professorship strengthens awareness and capacity to act among partners and citizens in the Northern Netherlands regarding security threats from geopolitical, climate, and societal challenges.
Professorship Governance, Security and Subversion
Security and Subversion professorship investigates subversive practices and the administrative and integrated approach to them. The geographical focus is on Northern Netherlands.
