International Open Access Week 2026
International Open Access Week 2026 will take place from October 19–25, with the goal of increasing the use and publication of open access scientific information.
“The Cost of Knowledge?” is the theme for this year’s International Open Access Week. The 2026 theme invites discussion on the rising financial, human and environmental costs associated with the creation and sharing of scientific knowledge, particularly when these systems are controlled by commercial entities rather than serving the public interest.
