This spring, the NHL Stenden Choir is offering a special musical experience. On Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 April 2025, we will perform both Johann Sebastian Bach's St Matthew Passion and St John Passion in the atmospheric Grote or Jacobijnerkerk in Leeuwarden.
The weeks before Easter are traditionally dominated by passion music. Around the world, choirs sing one of Bach's passions, but for a choir to perform both is exceptional. After last year's great success, we will perform these impressive masterpieces in one week for the second year in a row!
With professional soloists and the renowned Promenade Orkest from Amsterdam, we will make this Passion time unforgettable. The role of the Evangelist is performed by the expressive German tenor Fabian Strotmann. The young and promising Franske van der Wiel sings the alto part, New Zealand's Lauren Armishaw shines as soprano and baritone Raoul Stefani performs the role of Christ. Tenor Henry Ross and bass Tiemo Wang complete the row of soloists.
Tickets and passepartout
