Do you have a disability and want to follow a study programme? We have a wide range of possibilities to assist you in doing this. Our student counsellors will help you find a personal solution so you can use your talents and obtain your diploma.

What is a disability?

The expression disability is a collective term used to cover chronic diseases, mental and physical complaints, dyslexia, and dyscalculia. These include diabetes, rheumatism, vision impairment, depression, AD(H)D, severe migraines, and autism. Disabilities do not necessarily lead to problems during your studies. However, if they do, then a student counsellor will help you find a solution.

Discuss the possibilities with a student counsellor

Do you have a disability and want to study at NHL Stenden? Then contact a student counsellor on +31 (0)58 244 11 55  or studentinfo@nhlstenden.com. Even if you are still unsure of your choice of study and you want to know what is and is not possible within a programme, we advise you make an appointment with a student counsellor in advance. If you become disabled during your study or you require other facilities, then we will try to find a solution together.

Tailored support

We can have various solutions to enable you to study. Perhaps you need more time to complete tests, or less strict attendance requirements. Maybe the physical environment needs to be adapted. Or perhaps you require personal facilities, such as customised chairs. We will try to come to a tailored arrangement when discussing your needs. Of course, the solutions will need to fit within the scope offered by the education and exam programmes.

Adjustments and facilities

Besides personal support, adaptations and facilities can make all the difference. Together with you, the student counsellor will work out a solution tailored to your situation. Are you curious about the various options? View examples of adjustments and facilities.
