As an IT professional you’ll have highly developed conceptual skills, be able to work in and manage a team and have the knowledge and skills to understand and take on a variety of roles. Drawing on the insights you gained during your minor specialisation, you can work in positions such as software developer, programme or systems engineer, either for a company interim, or as a self-employed freelancer.
Careers open to you after graduation include:
- Software Engineer: developing specific software (for example: new electronic payment systems, popular games or web applications) for companies and institutions
- Certified Ethical Hacker: acting as an advisor on IT security matters
- Full Stack Developer: designing, developing and maintaining both the back-end and the front-end components of software applications
- IT Consultant: evaluating a company's IT system to help them achieve their business goals
- Embedded systems engineer: programming for embedded systems (devices, machines, robots)
- Cloud Solutions Architect: designs and oversees the implementation of cloud-based systems and applications
- Systems Analyst: assess an organisation's current information systems and business processes to recommend improvements and develop IT solutions

It is now also possible for our students to take an English-taught pre-Master's degree at the University of Twente during the minors phase of our IT programme. That way, after finishing your bachelor’s degree at NHL Stenden, you can smoothly transition to one of six IT-related master's programmes at a top research university in the Netherlands.
