“I knew what I wanted to study and I knew I wanted to experience something new and innovative. This meant I excluded my home country of Italy from my list. When I started looking into European countries, most of them required that you spoke their language, like French in France. It makes sense, but wasn’t an option for me. It meant I ended up with the Netherlands as a possible location. I remember a girl that I followed on Instagram told me she was doing International Business and I thought it was a good idea to start from there and look at what NHL Stenden had to offer.”
Interactive
“I chose the online events because I couldn’t visit the university in person. So they were actually my only option at the time. A couple of months before my studies started, I came to Leeuwarden for a couple of days and did the Walk & Talk on campus. It meant I could get a little familiar with the campus and not get so lost on my first day. With the pre-arrival webinar, I was able to ask all my questions directly and get a sincere answer from real students. I picked up on the ambience of the university and felt assured I was making the right choice. It also helped me more with the technicalities and finding out what documentation I needed to have with me. It was really interactive and gave me some useful last insights on what my life was going to look like just a few months later. The webinar also left me feeling motivated and understood in what I was looking for. I couldn’t wait to start my journey as a student.”
Good feelings
“I loved the aesthetic of the building and the areas of study NHL Stenden offers. Although I felt a lot of time was lost during the pre-arrival webinar talking about design-based education, I ultimately fell head over heels for it when I found out how it actually worked as an educational concept. The webinar also highlighted all the things I felt I needed to prepare but it also confirmed the good feeling I had about the study and NHL Stenden.”
