If you’re studying at a university of applied sciences or university and would like to follow a minor at NHL Stenden, then sign up using Kies Op Maat. Kies Op Maat makes it easy to sign up as student to follow minors or subjects, often for free, at other universities or universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands. With Kies Op Maat you can be sure that the module you want to do is recognised by your own degree programme.
Check the Kies Op Maat website for available minors. Bear in mind that not all NHL Stenden minors are offered through Kies Op Maat.
If your educational institute is part of Kies op Maat, then you can register using the following steps.
Step 1: Download a Learning Agreement using Kies op Maat
Log in to www.kiesopmaat.nl using your student account and download the learning agreement for your selected minor. Fill in all the necessary information and sign the form. You then need to get the learning agreement approved by your study programme’s exam board. Ask them to sign and stamp the document and, when it’s approved, check all the information is correct and save it as a PDF.
Step 2: Register using the link on the learning agreement
Registration is easy using the link in the learning agreement (the link is on the front page of the learning agreement under ‘Host Institution). Once you have completed and submitted the form, you will receive a confirmation email. This email will explain how to upload the learning agreement and your proof of ID. Once we have received your application, we can start processing it. We process applications in order of receipt (first come, first served). We’ll email you within ten working days with the status of your application. If the minor has an intake process, the applicable lecturer will get in touch with you.
Submitting a learning agreement does not necessarily mean you will be admitted to the minor as each minor has a maximum number of places per term. If all the places have been filled, we will let you know.
Once you have been admitted to the minor, we will email you at the address you have submitted with instructions on how to activate your NHL Stenden account. You should then keep an eye on your NHL Stenden student mailbox as this will be where you receive information on your student card and the start of your minor.
The timetables for NHL Stenden are published at the start of each term on the YOS (Your Own Space) website. For more information about your timetable and YOS, check out the following link.
For more information on signing up for tests, check out the following link.
If you have decided you don’t want to take an NHL Stenden minor or you want to stop studying your minor, you can deregister by emailing [email protected]
If you don’t think you will be able to finish the minor during the semester/term, then email [email protected] requesting an extension to your registration. You will not need to resubmit a learning agreement.
After you have completed your minor and your credits have been registered in Progress, your Declaration of Achieved Results Kies op Maat will be generated automatically. This statement will be sent digitally to the email address you provided. By submitting the declaration to the examination board of your home institution, your credits can be processed there.
