How do you empower people from different backgrounds, cultures, beliefs and values to achieve common success?
In this minor you will explore a wide variety of diverse cultures and backgrounds. You will undertake projects with people from Thailand and Southeast Asia in a truly unique environment with the aim to improve your ability to work on projects together to successfully achieve common goals.

This minor goes beyond theory to practical application and real-life situations. In theory you are taught about different management techniques, hierarchy and structures. In this minor you will focus on how to apply this in an environment that is not linear, or clear.

Structure of the minor
The outcome of this minor is not to change your individual management or leadership style to a one size fits all model. Instead, there is a focus first on understanding more about yourself and your driving forces. Then you will begin enhancing your soft skills and emotional intelligence to enhance your ability to adapt yourself in different situations.
Students will be assessed based on their understanding, and ability to demonstrate knowledge on Emotional intelligence (EI) and applying this in practical settings.
Minor Learning Outcome:
To provide future leaders with enhanced abilities to communicate, collaborate, and succeed with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Unit learning Outcomes:
- Unit 1 (knowledge-based delivery):
The student can assess situations through different sets of lenses or perspectives. Can identify and create an internal plan of action on how to deal with different situations as presented to them. - Unit 2 (practical application):
The student can communicate effectively with a diverse range of people and can coach and guide people from diverse backgrounds. - Unit 3: (practical application):
The student can influence the outcomes or projects towards set objectives, based on their behavior and the application of training.
The activities in this minor are designed to give students exposure to a wide variety of situations and people from diverse, and often complicated backgrounds. You will need to showcase leadership and managerial skills to pass the minor, but most importantly your ability to change how you are perceived, and how you can influence people across a variety of different settings.
