The Event industry continues to rapidly develop and expand, driving the demand for highly skilled personnel in professional event organizations. The industry values advanced interpersonal, management skills and Resilient adaptability. Beyond organizational proficiency, expertise in stakeholder interaction and project management is crucial. Our module's core objective is to train students as comprehensive event organizers, integrating theoretical knowledge on project management, creative event design, risk assessment and marketing and event finances with practical experience in real-world events.
During this minor you will design, plan and execute an impact full event for a local community.
It's important to note that while event management is undoubtedly rewarding, it is also a demanding profession that challenges the traditional 9-5 mentality. The real-world nature of this program ensures students understand the rigors of the industry. Hard work is a given, but the sense of accomplishment and the thrill of creating something extraordinary make it all worthwhile. You'll have the opportunity to work collaboratively in teams on various events. This approach mirrors the industry reality, providing valuable insights into effective communication, problem-solving, and the power of collective creativity. Structure of the minor
The overall learning outcome of the minor is: "The student can apply design, organizational, and execution skills to create a sustainable event that contributes to the local community. The student will conduct an in-depth analysis of the event's impact and reflect on their own role as a professional event organizer, considering both individual and group perspectives."
Based around the areas of project management, creativity and design, marketing, programming, finance and risk management, you demonstrate that you are able to identify and analyze relevant theory and apply this to real world event cases. The minor exists out of self-study, expert sessions, guest lectures and interactive atelier sessions.
After a bootcamp in week 1 and a mandatory educational field trip abroad in week 2, you will dive into theory and at the same time designing and organizing a real event for a client, that will be executed in the last weeks of the minor.
The Grand Tour fee for Event Management in Thailand includes all fieldtrip and other minor activities. Each location provides a fieldtrip to introduce you to the world of Events. The details vary from location to location.
