Frisius MC is the new name for what is currently Medical Centre Leeuwarden and Tjongerschans hospital in Heerenveen. In addition, Erica aims to apply the unique way of collaboration that has put education in Northern Netherlands on the map in the past few years to the healthcare industry.

Valuable contributions

Since her appointment on 1 October 2017, Erica has performed her role of chair of the board with dedication and energy. Erica has made a valuable contribution to the growth and development of NHL Stenden and led the merger between NHL University of Applied Sciences and Stenden. Her influence extended in fact beyond the region and she also played an important role for the whole of Northern Netherlands, for instance in the collaborations through the Education Agreement Fryslân, Water Campus Leeuwarden and the University of the North. In addition, as vice-chair for the Netherlands Association of University of Applied Sciences, she has made an important contribution to the development of higher education at a national level, as well as to internationalisation which has expanded rapidly in the past years thanks to such partnerships as with RUN European University.  The Supervisory Board is especially grateful for her dedication and resolve in leading NHL Stenden over the years.
