In EW Best Studies 2022, EW compares over 2,200 Bachelor's and Master's study programmes. To qualify for a medal, the study programme must score significantly better than other study programmes within the relevant sector, EW explains. Programmes that excel in most parts receive a gold medal, 'because students are very satisfied with various aspects of their studies'.
Seven times gold
According to EW, NHL Stenden is "one of the universities of applied sciences that stands out". In 2021, five NHL Stenden study programmes received a gold medal. The study programmes that won gold then will do so again a year later: Accountancy, Chemie (in cooperation with Van Hall Larenstein), Communicatie, Finance & Control and Leraar Aardrijskunde. Civiele Techniek and Docent Theater raise the number of gold medals this year to no less than seven.
Unique educational concept
NHL Stenden is proud of the 14 medals it has won, says Erica Schaper, chairman of the Executive Board. "It's always great that study programmes are awarded, especially when the opinion of our students is the source. It makes us proud and at the same time challenges us to perform even better, using our new and unique educational concept Design Based Education, in which students work intensively with each other, organisations and companies."
