Hotel Management School wins European Mise en Place Cup

On 24 and 25 April, the 14th edition of the European Mise en Place Cup (EMCup) took place. In Maastricht, 28 European hotel schools competed for this prestigious prize and the Hotel Management School of NHL Stenden was the absolute winner. This is the third time that our Hotel School has won this prize and it is the only school in history to have won it more than once.

Intrapreneurship
This year's theme was intrapreneurship; an entrepreneurial mindset that stimulates innovation and increases profitability within your company. Our students Anh, Marnix, Aisha, Stefan and Alina represented our Hotel School on this theme by writing and pitching their paper, work on challenges from the hospitality industry and by participating in debates.

EMCup
The event is one of the biggest competitions among European hotel schools. Students from all over Europe compete against each other by pitching a solution to an existing problem based on the annual theme. In addition, this is the event to build a large international network and to exchange knowledge with each other. The jury present, consisting of companies such as NH Hotel Group, Hilton and MAKRO, will determine the ultimate winner. Hotel Management School has participated since 2009 and has won in 2010, 2015 and now also in 2022.
