Doubling top programmes
Each year, the Keuzegids awards the best programmes of each category the quality label of Top Programmes. Last year, the university counted 9 Top Programmes. In the Keuzegids Hbo 2020, 19 NHL Stenden study programmes have been designated as top programmes, which is a doubling compared to last year. Also, the Maritime Officer course at the Willem Barentsz Maritime Institute has been labeled a Top Programme for the 7th time. In Emmen, the study programmes Chemistry, and Primary Education Teacher Programmes (PABO) both receive the quality label for the 4th and 3rd time respectively.
Schaper: "These are all examples of studies that educate people to professions that are very relevant in their regions. More focus on development Ad's
The addition of the associate degrees (Ad’s) is new in this year’s Keuzegids Hbo 2020. This type of two-year, practice- and profession-oriented higher education is increasingly called for by the professional field. NHL Stenden is responding to this development by offering new Ad’s and further developing the existing Ad's. This year, the Ad's Hotel Management and Commercial Economics, both of which are offered in Emmen, will be awarded the Top Programme quality label. According to the Keuzegids Hbo 2020, NHL Stenden distinguishes itself with the Ad's especially within the field of tourism, mentioning Hotel Management AD.
