On My Way: a new series following international students from decision to arrival
What is it like to choose to study abroad? In the new series On My Way, you follow international students from their first idea to their arrival at NHL Stenden. In their own words and images, they show what that journey really feels like.
Choosing a university. Packing your life into a suitcase. Walking onto a new campus for the first time. For many international students, this is where an exciting period begins, full of choices and change. On My Way gives you a real glimpse into that experience.
Following international students from idea to arrival
It's almost a year since we first reached out to prospective students asking if we could follow them on their journey here. The response was actually a little overwhelming! In the end, nine students shared their lives with us, uploading over 1.5 terabyte of footage for us. They filmed their lives from May to October 2025, showing us everything from the moment they started thinking about studying abroad to saying goodbye to family, from travelling to the Netherlands to feeling settled with new friends.
Giving future students a real picture
From the footage our students sent us, we've created a series with 11 episodes. Short enough to binge. Relatable enough to truly resonate with future students. Even if they don't decide to study with us, it supports them in their decision-making process.
We're incredibly proud of our students and the series we’ve created with them. And we’re convinced it will help future students get a better picture of what studying abroad really means, before they even leave home.
