Rewatch the guest lecture with Eurocommissioner Frans Timmermans on Ukraine, Russia and the energy crisis

In a packed lecture hall with more than 500 students, Frans Timmermans, Vice-President of the European Commission, made no bones about it. "This could be the start of a new Cold War. The Cold War was also an ideological confrontation. Putin's worldview is at odds with ours. His worldview puts the nation first and subordinates the individual to it; sending women back to the kitchen sink and basing everything on religion."

In the guest lecture, Timmermans gave his view on Putin's invasion into Ukraine, how he expects the conflict to develop and on how Europe can speed up the Green Deal plans to become fossil fuel independent. Education platform ScienceGuide reported extensively on the lecture (in Dutch).
