RUN-EU Superweek at NHL Stenden: meeting, exchanging knowledge and building educational models and 'design factories'

End of May, 87 lecturers, deans, educationalists, researchers, and HRM employees came to NHL Stenden in Leeuwarden. After three successful editions at HAMK Finland, this time NHL Stenden took the initiative to host the RUN-EU Super Week.

It is the 4th Super Week in the Regional University Network0- European University (RUN-EU) history, and based on our experience it is an in spiring week: there is always something special happening. Meeting new people leads to new connections, new insights, inspiration and possibilities for collaborations. A few examples: in the past editions international colleagues started working together on joint ‘Design Sprint’ weeks with their students, SAPs are initiated, Visiting Professors started doing research at partner universities, and collaborative Erasmus+ funded projects were applied. Our biggest achievement so far? During this Super Week our RUN-EU partner,  Technical University of the Shannon in Ireland,  officially applied to become a Design Factory!

The theme for this edition? Dig deeper. We did that in multiple ways: the Design Factory Bootcamp track helps our international colleagues to actually build their own Design Factory. Next, the Pedagogical Development track works on a collaborative perspective of a to be developed European educational concept building upon the growing number of SAPs, MOOCs and COILs. And finally, there was even a first ever HRM Conference track added to Super Week.  Because what does it mean for Human Resources when we evolve our educational concept?

During the week we actively interacted between the three different tracks. During this week we also connected with the Green Pepper Week, a Dutch initiative for sustainability activities within universities.

All this gave all of us an extra perspective on the value of the connections with the RUN-EU partners.
