The apple trophy goes to Lanja Göttgens as NHL Stenden Lecturer of the Year

Lanja Göttgens (34) was named NHL Stenden Lecturer of the Year on Wednesday afternoon. In the college's theater hall, the Pedagogy lecturer competed against eight fellow lecturers in the finals. As the winner of the election, Lanja has a chance to participate in the national competition next April.

The jury - Oscar Couwenberg (Executive Board), Marjan Scholman (Director of OO&I), Ivet Somers (Student Advisory Board DLWO) and Bastiaan Kramer (HMR) - praised Lanja's view of good teaching and her vision of future education. For what education should look like in 2030 was the question during the final round.

Joining Lanja in the final round were Cornelis van der Klaauw (lecturer in Spatial Development) and Ellen van der Spoel (lecturer in Tourism Management). They had been named finalists by the jury, based on their pitch in the first round. From the hands of presenter Jaap Sanders, Lanja received the apple trophy, flowers and a voucher to spend at Notiz Hotel and Restaurant Wannee.

National election

As NHL Stenden Lecturer of the Year, Lanja has a chance to participate in the national election in April 2023. This will be organized by ISO (Interstedelijk Studenten Overleg). In addition to the honorary title, the winner will receive a beautiful trophy, a scholarship worth 25,000 euros to spend on educational innovation and a seat of honor on the board of the Comenius network.
