Vulnerability found in software

A vulnerability has recently been found in Apache Log4j. The software is commonly used in web applications and other systems used in numerous companies, including ours. The vulnerability means there is a risk that hackers can access our data and launch attacks using ransomware. The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has warned against extensive potential damage and has advised organisations to prepare for a possible attack.

We’re working hard on protection

Following this warning, we immediately undertook measures to prevent possible attacks and limit any consequences in our university of applied sciences. We are checking all our systems, internal and external for risks and taking action where necessary.

We also share tips on how to reduce the risk of an attack

We also remind our staff and students of precautionary measures to reduce the risk of an attack, not just now but also in the future.

What else?

Behind the scenes, we’re continuing to implement measures to protect our university of applied sciences as best we can digitally. If there are new developments that could affect the work of our students or staff, then we will let them know through the usual channels or by informing their team leader or study programme directly.
