Peter Sinnema is Senior Lecturer in the Leisure and Events Management programme at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, a researcher at the European Tourism Futures Institute (ETFI), and a PhD candidate at the Centre for Transformative Education (Campus Fryslân, University of Groningen).

His research focuses on transformative futures thinking in higher education, with an emphasis on developing an action-oriented and hopeful relationship with the future among students. He draws on perspectives from transformative learning, futures literacy, futures thinking, and design thinking to explore how higher education can better prepare students for uncertainty and support them in contributing to desirable futures.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management and a Master’s degree in Learning and Innovation. His professional experience includes roles in education, curriculum development, and educational innovation within higher education.
