
Boudewijn H. Dijkstra holds a position as lecturer-researcher and coordinator at the Serious Gaming education and research group at the NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences. He started his career as a business analyst/controller at a large Dutch internet company in Amersfoort. In 2001 he returned to the province of Fryslân to work as a business controller for the Ministry of Justice. As of 2006 he has been working in higher education as a teacher-researcher.
Since 2010 Serious Gaming has become more and more the subject of his focus. Together with colleagues, Boudewijn has had a role in the development of the Master Health Innovation (2015), Master Serious Gaming (2017) and Master Design Driven Innovation (2019). In addition to being a lecturer-researcher and coordinator, Boudewijn is (has been) active within NHL Stenden in the field of ICT/edutech consultancy, project management and as project coordinator for practice-based research projects. Boudewijn holds bachelor's degrees in HBO Business Administration (BBA) and 2nd degree teacher training in general and business economics (BEd) and a master's degree in learning & Innovation (MEd).
