What fascinates lector Dr Jan Berenst about practice-based research is, together with teaching staff, making language use and learning open to investigation. In such a way that this produces relevant answers to questions regarding optimal forms of (language) education.
“I studied Dutch Language and Literature at the University of Groningen, and for a number of years worked as a teacher at various schools. Later I became a researcher and lecturer at the University of Groningen for the study programmes Dutch and Communication & Information Sciences. I gave lectures, carried out research and published in the areas of discourse analysis, language use studies and language & literacy development. I obtained my doctorate in Relational Language Use. I was also closely involved in practice-based research into innovations in language education and the development of learning tools.”
