Rob has worked as a software developer where his work focused on developing custom applications for various platforms, as well as managing and setting up database and web servers, among other things. During this time, he gained experience in secure programming and hacking. From 2016, he has worked as a researcher lecturer in the Information Technology programme, teaching software development and management, as well as the minors Certified Ethical Hacking and Secure Programming.
Rob completed his master's degree in Serious Gaming in 2021. During his studies, he conducted research on creating cybersafety awareness through the use of gaming. In the developed prototype, players follow a route in which they have to make choices each time, which are a metaphor for principles from the world of cybersafety and security.
Within the research group, Rob brings his experience in hacking, (secure) software development and serious gaming to the various projects.
