Sarah Walburg began her career as a doctor’s assistant, after which she studied Nursing at the NHL University of Applied Sciences. She has worked as a lecturer within the NHL University of Applied Sciences Nursing department since 2011.

While studying for her higher professional degree in nursing (HBO-V), Sarah did her research placement on the Talma professorship ‘From thinking to doing: supporting a perception-orientated approach’ research project, funded by SIA-RAAK. She then studied Health Sciences at the VU University  Amsterdam, specializing in Prevention and Public Health.

She joined GGD Fryslân’s youth healthcare department as a project coordinator, where her responsibilities included the administration of the KD+ digital filing system. Sarah then worked as a health promoter and researched how social media can be used to make contact with young people aged 12+.

Sarah has worked as a lecturer within the NHL University of Applied Sciences Nursing department since 2011. Here, she focuses on the links between science, healthcare in practice and new technologies. The Healthcare Technology programme was developed in collaboration with the iHuman - Digital Welfare and Healthcare professorship and lecturers of the Healthcare and Welfare institute.
