“One booking that’s noted in capital letters in my diary is Awakenings. I’ve always dreamed of playing at that festival. I’m listed with artists that have inspired me so much. As a child I was already in love with music. I collected electronic music and would completely lose myself in it. When my parents later took me to festivals where a lot of techno was played, I was completely sold. I just thought the sound was fantastic.

"I get goosebumps from head to toe when I'm standing in front of 500,000 people."
There weren’t many female djs back then playing techno. It was kind of a man’s world on the podium, but the music really got me. I often thought about what I would do differently if it was me standing behind the turntables and after a while, I decided to teach myself. I started playing in small clubs and now things have got much bigger. I play at festivals I used to go to myself, like Amsterdam Dance Event, Loveland, Dockyard Festival and Love Parade Berlin. I get goosebumps from top to toe if I play for 500,000 people. It’s weird to see how you can inspire such a large group.
I’m moving shortly to Amsterdam because of the music. I’m going to release my first album and do what makes me happy: inspire people. Sometimes people say how lucky I am but I don’t really believe it’s like that. You make your own luck. It doesn’t just come your way: you have to work hard for it. And you have to push your fears aside. At the end of the day there’s always a reason not to do something, but why not instead look for that one reason why you should do something?”
